you’ll be labeled detached.

Because you’re focused on execution over approval,
the dream over the nightmare of mediocrity,
they’ll say you’re uncaring.

When you outgrow the past,
those whose best years are behind them
will accuse you of thinking you’re better—
when in reality,
you’ve just dropped the chains.

Respect yourself.
Be willing to pay the price.
Plant seeds where you’re appreciated.
Move as if you’ve already been convicted
