DETROIT, MIーWith a track record that spans two decades and dozens of industries, JuJuan BufordーManaging Partner of JSB Business Solutions Group and founder of The Grow Givers Projectーis scaling partnerships with civic organizations and government agencies committed to equitable economic development.
Buford’s work centers around a singular mission: to help 100,000 entrepreneurs become employers by giving them the tools to build scalable, fundable, and sustainable enterprises. From coaching solopreneurs to guiding economic development organizations, his offerings span business credit strategy, sales systems, legal and operational structuring, and high-touch technical assistance for entrepreneurs ready to grow.
“I’m not a novice who watches business videos from behind a desk and claims real-world expertise,” Buford says. “I’ve built enterprises from scratch. I’ve failed forward. I’ve spent the last 20 years showing others how to avoid real pitfalls, adopt winning strategies, and scale real businesses that create jobs in Detroit and generational wealth.”
A lifelong practitioner and student of entrepreneurship, Buford brings decades of experience to help him enable and transform Detroit businesses. He is well-versed in public speaking (24 years), copywriting and ghostwriting (20 years), sales strategy (20 years), B2B consultation (17 years), insurance and investment advising (11 years), and business structuring and forecasting (5 years). He specializes in helping entrepreneurs refine their origin stories, implement prospecting and sales tactics, develop client service and retention systems, and align their daily activities with goal-setting strategies that produce predictable growth.
Buford is also a respected voice in Michigan’s academic and business communities. He served as a panelist and speaker at the University of Michigan Black Celebratory (one of the largest African American university graduation ceremonies in the country) after co-organizing the event and writing the event’s mission statement. Buford has also spoken at the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business and countless professional events in the Detroit metropolitan area, and has served clients and partners including the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, Macomb-Oakland Regional Center, QT Business Solutions Inc., CRIMSON Agency (formerly the Mort Crim Communications Inc), and YumVillage.
Buford also reaches over 3,000 entrepreneurs to provide real-time coaching and weekly business insights through his online publication, “The Grow Givers Project.” He will launch a nationally-publicized bootcamp eventー“Come As You Are in 3 Years”ー in downtown Detroit this summer to challenge business owners to think bigger and build boldly.
Buford serves civic and governmental partners as well. These organizations can expect to receive outcome-driven technical assistance for entrepreneurs, culturally relevant and scalable business training curricula, robust engagement strategies to activate underserved entrepreneurial talent, and education in leadership, sales, and legal education tailored for community impact.
Buford invites municipalities, nonprofit accelerators, public-private coalitions, and government agencies to explore partnerships that transform communities, one employer at a time.
